The Benefits of Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini Yoga is powerful and fast-acting because it is based on kriyas, or specially formulated sets of exercises, not just postures; the benefits of kriyas far outweighing the benefits from random postures. This is one of the reasons why Kundalini Yoga works much more quickly and effectively than other forms of yoga, such as Hatha. It is much more precise, and allows you to target and work on specific aspects of yourself.

There are many benefits to this form of yoga, including:

    A healthier, stronger body.
    • It provides a complete range of exercises for the muscles. These exercises maintain and develop the strength and flexibility of the body.
    • Muscle stretching and internal massage improves circulation so that the eliminating organs, lungs, intestines, kidneys and the skin, are able to function better.

Increases lung capacity for better breathing.
    • By using specific breathing techniques we effectively influence the nervous system; strengthening it and therefore helping to alleviate stress, tension and anxiety.

    Balances our glandular system.
    • It stimulates circulation by increasing the circulation of blood, lymph and other body fluids.

    Strengthens the immune system.
    • It promotes the natural inbuilt healing properties of the body.

    Balances the emotions.
    • Kundalini Yoga can release our stored emotions, such as fear, insecurity, anger, resentment and jealousy; stress. As these emotions surface, we can release them through the practice of Kundalini Yoga.

    Strengthens the nervous system.
    • It brings the body back into a more natural rhythm. When we become emotional, the energy in our body becomes distorted and imbalanced; Kundalini yoga rebalances that energy so we feel calm, peaceful and energised.

    Brings clarity of mind.
    • Through meditation, we can take the wandering mind and focus on the feelings and energies that arise through our practice.

It helps develop a stronger, more intuitive and sensitive mind.
    • Kundalini Yoga will give clarity and improve decision making.
    • Increase self-confidence.

It promotes a sense of peace.
    • Kundalini yoga is the yoga of awareness. Through practice we become more aware of our thoughts and actions and can start to act from the neutral mind.

Practising Kundalini Yoga gives you the capacity to go beyond oneself to reach a Higher Self.
It supports and encourages personal transformation and growth, creating happiness and health.
